Books by Darby Kane

We all have authors who we love to read and some of them become automatic buys. Most of my auto-reads fall into the murder mystery or locked-room mystery space, but several of them are in the psychological thriller/domestic drama space. Darby Kane is one of those authors whose books I consume as soon as possible. Kane’s latest book, The Last Invitation, comes out today (12.6.22) and I can’t wait to snag a copy.

If you are new to Darby Kane’s books, you should check them out. They are all standalone reads, quick paced, and just the kind of easy reading you need with all the holiday busy season going on. (I also love them poolside!) 

Pretty Little Wife is a mysterious domestic thriller not to be missed! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

We are used to the wife gone missing plot, but what happens when the tables get turned? The creep factor for this book is HIGH and the twists are plentiful. Yes, please!!! Fans of Samantha Downing and Tarryn Fisher will enjoy this book. There are some nods to true crime podcasts and books, too. 

The Replacement Wife is a ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ book for me. It’s a domestic suspense novel that sits squarely in the psychological thriller space. 

Elisa is staring at her brother-in-law and she is certain he is a murderer. Is she right? Is she paranoid? Is someone messing with her or is she messing with us? With women missing here and dead women there, a mystery lurks around every corner. 

I really enjoyed the originality in Kane’s first book…Pretty Little Wife. While The Replacement Wife isn’t as unique, it was still an entertaining thriller.
